Owners Keith and Libby Johnson
Husband and wife team, Keith and Libby Johnson started Sound Sisters Inc in 2005 to fill a need for a sound equipment rental store in the western suburbs of the Twin Cities. Previously, Keith was one of the original owners of Minnetonka Music and moved on to a corporate position with Acoustical Surfaces. Libby was working as an interior designer and had 40 years of experience in retail sales. At first, Libby and a good friend (practically a sister!) ran the business. Then Libby took the reigns alone and Keith became a more integral partner. They both love working with people. Sound Sister is a great way to have fun while serving their favorite part of the Twin Cities area - Lake Minnetonka.
They carry all major brands of audio equipment, stage and effect lighting, guitars and guitar amps, drum sets - anything you need for live production.
Given their expertise, a variety of businesses have used their sound system design and installation services. The stack of satisfied testimonials keeps rising!
Both Keith and Libby are at a point in life where if it isn't fun, they don't want to be involved. Keith plays in a band called The Rattlers that plays in the Western Suburbs a couple times per month. Libby is certified in Reiki healing and loves working to help people heal and be healthy.
Sound Sisters provides sound, stages, and stage lighting for many local events including Corn Days, Buckthorn Days, Firecracker Run, Tour de Tonka, and several Unmapped Brewing Outdoor Festivals.
They rent and sell both sound and music equipment, and are always willing to offer advice or help put together a custom package depending on your needs.
